The University of Kakathiya is started or established in the year of 1976. The Motto of University is marching towards academic excellence. It is a public type of university and the voice chancellor of this university is Sri K. Chiranjeevulu Indian Administrative Services and the Director School Education of Telangana State. An administrative staff of the University for Dean, college Development Council Sri ‘Dr. M.A. Singara Charya’ garu, for Dean, Academic Audit Cell Professor ‘K. Krishna Reddy’ and for Registrar Professor ‘Khaja Althaf Hussain’. It is located in Warangal district, in Telangana state in India. At the UG and PG levels the Kakathiya University offers 120 programs in the Arts, Commerce, Business management Science, education, pharmaceutical sciences and social science of the faculties. In 4 districts of Telangana the affiliated colleges are evolved. The no. of faculties in the university is 622 and 248 for non teaching and teaching staff respectively. 

The Education Academics in University of Kakathiya:

It has a Network of 11 colleges with the 28 branches. For the UG level programs the no. of enrollments of students are around the 90,000 during the years 2011-2012 and for PG level courses there are 8,000. For Ph. D programs there are 850 research scholars are registered in the different branches. In Telangana for the first time in the PG level service science courses for Govt employees, Teachers, Certificate courses in the communication skills in the English, MCJ  and M. L. I. Sc , Bachelor of Technology, M.Sc. (ES) and M.Sc.(psychology) are the available courses in University of Kakathiya.

History of The Kakathiya University:

By Scholars and Faculty the university will also promoting the collective research and the individual researches. The students in university are having the distinction of becoming the very active part of a Human Resource of world Corporate. Various steps are taken for the development of university infrastructure facilities since the year of 1976, in which establishment was happened. For the development activities of university the total area is being used is about 650 acres. These developmental things are done by the available sources like State Govt. and Funds from the Under graduate colleges and other sources. In the university there are very beautiful classrooms, computer labs, nice faculty rooms, and seminar halls. In the science departments of labs are maintained with the Ultra modern scientific instrumental things. 

Administrative Building of KU:

The region of the Kakathiya  University  is in district of Warangal, India. The university has completed the twenty-five years of its existence. In the year of 1967, firstly the university established with the 4 departments as a PG College. This was established in four backward districts of the north Telangana and the names of the four districts are Khammam, Adilabad, Warangal, and Karimnagar. The centers of PG are located across these four districts. At PG and UG levels the university offering approximately 120 programs in the lecturers of the various subjects like business management, Science, Social science, Engineering, Arts, Commerce, The Education, and the Pharmaceutical Sciences etc.  

About the Kakathiya University:

On Aug 19th in the year of 1976 the establishment of Kakathiya University was happened. In the year 1968, firstly the university began with the only 4 departments which are Mathematics, Telugu, Chemistry and Telugu etc. Some more departments are added later and the departments are Zoology, Commerce, Physics and Botany etc. In the year of 1974 the department of Economics has started. And the department of B. Pharmacy firstly it was established or started by the University of Osmania and after it was shifted to the Kakathiya University in the year 1975. Now the Kakathiya University(KU) is about nearly 29 years old and it is all set for the academic excellence. In the year 2001, the KU also celebrated grandly its celebrations of Silver jubilee. If we talk about the area with the expansion of University was determined by the municipality of the Warangal district only. This has now in its fold of 321 colleges in those 171 old govt. aided, unaided private degree colleges, 3 law colleges, 66 new colleges in the year 2005, 3 colleges of engineering, 14 colleges of pharmacy and 11 university of PG colleges, 32 MCA colleges, 29 colleges of MBA and 48 colleges of B. Ed. All of these colleges are located in North Telangana of the 4 districts Khammam, Karimnagar, Warangal and Adilabad. The total no. of students in the University for the UG level programs was approximately 90,000. M. Phil. and Ph. D degrees are started or established after the formation of the University of Kakathiya.

Plan grants of Kakathiya University:      

A grant of Rs.335.38 lakhs is given by the University of Kakathiya for 9th plan and same has been allocated to all the departments towards of Equipment, books, journals and the construction of some buildings of academic. For 10th plan, allocated the amount Rs.3.85 chores to the University.   

Scheme Sanctioned in Kakathiya University:

Under the FIST the departments of Technology and the Science in the capital city of India i.e. New Delhi, it has identified the department of Chemistry, Botany and Pharmacy of the university. An amount of Rs.93.00 lakhs were sanctioned to implement the various schemes for period of 5 years. In New Delhi the Under graduate college has identified the departments of the Pharmacy, Botany and the Economics at the level of DRS. And the amount Rs. 80.00 lakhs to implement the schemes under the SAP(Special Assistance Program). Apart from these the two centers are running in the KU are “The center for Women’s Studies” and “the center for Yoga”.

There are 3 new schemes are sanctioned by the Commission to the KU for advancement of the students in SC and ST categories for a 3 years of period. The 3 new schemes are a) Coaching for the entry in service for the SC and ST students, b) Coaching of the SC and ST students to prepare for the NET (national eligibility Test) and c) Dr. B. R Ambedkar Studies center.

Research Programs In University Of Kakathiya: 

In the KU as per the time frame the programs of research are implemented. From the other funding and supporting agencies the amount has been received is Rs. 243.00 lakhs. The students are doing their research or the PG course with financial assistance is about 65. Under the MRS (major research schemes) twenty-eight project fellows are working. An amount of Rs.10.00 lakhs were sanctioned for the internet activities and  activities of the investigations by  UG Institutions or colleges.

Spectrum of The main Activities In University of Kakathiya(KU):  

The Kakathiya University is sincerely expressed as one of the best premier academic university in the country. Under the Professor Ananda Krishnaan, the observations of rationalization committee was visited the University and he is the chairman of the University. In the university the working hours of library is 12 hours i.e. from 8.00 am to 10.00 pm. The library caters of the University to the needs of about 350 lecturers and 650 research scholars or students and 1803 people of students with the collection of approximately Rs. 1.18 lakhs of books. A superb planned auditorium has designed and developed by the Engineers of kakathiya University.
