Rajasthan University

The Motto of Rajasthan University is “Dharmo Vishwasya Jagatah Pratishtha” and this is a public type of university. This was established in the year of 1948 and the chancellor of Rajasthan University is ‘Kalyan Singh’. It was located in Jaipur city, Rajasthan in India and it is an urban campus. This is called as one of the oldest university in India and it was setup on the date 08-01-1947 as Raiputana University.

Introduction to Rajasthan University:

Pre-Independence History:

The consideration for the separate University for the state of Raiputana commenced when the Act for University of Allahabad was passed. The prescribed Act for the separations of the classes of intermediate from degree classes as the condition for the affiliations, which means more expenditure for various colleges in city of Jaipur, Ajmer and the Jodhpur, the only institutions or colleges then the imparting education of the University and also it is affiliated to the University of Allahabad. The locality of the University is became the controversial issue. In the end it was decided that the general sense of conference seems that there are very strong obstacles at present to the University of an Raiputana and the institutions or colleges in the Rajasthan city were then affiliated to the University of Agra after the establishment i.e., in the year of 1927. The various efforts were again initiated in the year of 1942 by respected sir Mirza Ismail, sir J. C. Rollo who was appointed as Special Educational Officer then he was the Prime Minister of Jaipur. Later both Mirza Ismail sir and V. T. Krishnamachari sir will took the initiatives of an holding the various tasks with representatives of various cities like Bikaner, Udaipur, Jaipur, Aiwar and the Jodhpur in December in the year of 1946.  Later they agreed for the University establishment at Jodhpur city.
In the Kesargarh the Office of the University was setup temporarily and the University covers the area about 300 acres and about distance of 2 miles from the center of the city the University campus is placed. The University of Hyderabad was granted the annual grant of Rs. 2.5L by participates of the Raiputana state.

Post-Independence History:

The Motto of an University is that the 'Dharmo Vishwasya Jagatah Pratishtha' and instructed or suggested by vice chancellor (or Director) named G. S. Mahajani and she was accepted by an executive Council at the meeting and it was held on 28th of Jan in the year 1948. Sri V. T. Krishnamachary then he is the Diwan of Jaipur city and the pro Vice chancellor (or director) of Rajasthan University in the year 1949 in a month of Feb, he said that this Rajasthan University over one and half of the years has now been in the existence. For that the overall credit goes to srimati G. S. Mahajani. The bodies of University are settled down to their sincere work and later the University has started to conduct all types of examinations and also received the recognition for the degrees. “We are trying to introduce the college of Engineering in Jodhpur city and also the college of Agriculture in the Bikaner”. The primary or first governor general of state of India named Sri C. Rajagopalachari garu had a clear idea that the importance of Universities and their Dignities. When he speaking to the various students of Loyola institute or college, Madras (now it called as Chennai) in the month of August in the year 1948, then he examined that “we have to follow or proceed the Highest Standards for our Universities”.
On Sunday, Feb 20th by the Sri C. Rajagopalachari, the University foundation stone was laid in the year of 1949. With these words he completed his address or location on the occasion. Over Lecturers and the various students the University Motto calls to spread the Dharma throughout or around the world to make a planet earth a good place to live. The Rajasthan University owes very much to foresight, the sincerity and the ability of first 3 vice chancellors or directors of University and the name of those are Sri Dr. GS Mahajan garu, Dr. GC Chatterji and Sri Dr. Mohan Mehta garu who played very important roles in development of Rajasthan University.
