About University Of Hyderabad:

The University of Hyderabad is also called as the “Hyderabad Central University” and it is one of the Indian based public researches University. The location of the Hyderabad Central University is in India in Hyderabad of Telangana state. The Foundation of this university is in the year of 1974. The university has 400 faculty and more than 5000 students. The chief rector of this university is “Governor” of the Telangana only. The visitor of this university is “President of India” only.
The first voice-chancellor of HCU was the organic chemist and he is from Banaras University his name is Gurbaksh Singh, worked between the year of 1974-1979. And the first Chancellor of HCU was B.D.Jatti. Over all in the country the HCU is regarded as “Premier Varsity”. This university ranked in tops ten among all the Indian universities. The HCU has received the visitor’s award for “Best central university”, in Jan 2015, and this was given by the President of India. In 2300 acres, the university is located in “Gachibowli”.

Admissions in HCU:
The primary thing of this university is that it is a post graduate research university. The entrance examinations and the interviews are conducted by own itself in the months February and May respectively for every year. This university offering all the types of courses which are M.B.A, M. Tech, M.C.A, M. Sc, Ph. D, M. Phil, M.F.A and M.A etc.

Physics:
High quality teaching programs were developed by the school of Physics at the M.Tech and M.Sc. levels. This has the research programs to train the Ph. D scholars and it conducts the research in some areas of The high energy physics, physics of condensed matter, Laser optics, Quantum optics, non linear optics, electronic science, material science and physics of solid state.
Chemistry:
The students can admit in this school to the Ph. D and M. Sc programs and there is no specialization in M. Sc course. However the students can take the elective subjects and a project research in an particular area in the 4th semester. This will give the complete M.Sc. degree course freedom to the students to take the research in variety of specialization fields.

The Sarojini Naidu school of Arts and Communication in HCU:

The school of Sarojini Naidu Arts and Communication has started the functioning since the year 1988 to 1989. This can offers the Master-level courses in Theater arts, Painting, Communication and Dance and also it offers the Ph.D. courses in Dance, Theater Arts and Communication. The departments includes in this school are as follows.
1.    The department of Fine Arts
2.    The department of Dance
3.    The department of Communication
4.    The department of Theater Arts

Communication department in HCU:

In the Sarojini Naidu School Arts and Communication the Communication department can be located. And there are two programs that are offered by this department are Doctoral and Masters Degrees. And this can also offer a 2 year M.A. Communication and in this, the students who can join in this program can classifieds in one of the 3 types of specializations.
1.    The Print Journalism and New Media
2.    The Radio and Television
3.     The Communication and Media studies
The communication department is also offers a Ph. D Course and this is absolutely open to all M.A. students.

Teaching and Learning in HCU:

In the months of July and May the Hyderabad Central University follows semester calendar and In this the residential students are of 90%. There will be a two years of course in the Master’s degree. This HCU divided the percentage of the marks into two types, one is for Assignments and second one for the semester examinations. For assignments there will be a 40% of marks and the remaining 60% of marks are assigned to the Semester examinations. This university also follows the system of grading in which ‘A+’ is the highest and ‘D’ will be the lowest grade.

Research:

The Hyderabad Central University is a public research university and the research activity of this university is very ‘high’ in each department and awarding the ‘Doctorates’ about 300 for every year. As we discussed that this is a high quality research from the students and the faculty in Social sciences, natural sciences and in the humanities.

NIAB(National Institute of Animal Biotechnology):

The NIAB(National Institute of Animal Biotechnology) is one of the autonomous institute under the Biotechnology department, in the campus of University of the Hyderabad Government of India ,Technology and Ministry of Sciences are established.

The Institute of Life Sciences in HCU:

The ILS (Institute of Life Sciences) is also called as the Dr. Reddy’s Institute of the life sciences. The partners of the Institute of Life Sciences are as follows.

C R Rao’s Advanced Inst. Of Computer Science, Mathematics and Statistics (AIMSCS):
The AIMSCS has been setup with objects of the promoting research and advanced studies in various subjects like Computer science, Allied subjects, Statistics and in Mathematics. The AIMSCS and the HCU will jointly handles the collaboration in research, extension type of activities, Consultancy work and Teaching in various subjects like Computer science, Mathematics and Statistics.
Institutions of Association of the Managements Developments (AMDISA) in South Asia:   
The AMDISA is a SAARC recognized body, and it was established with initiatives of the schools of leading management in a region of SAARC. The Institute will promote the Managements of development and Education.

Library in HCU:

The library in HCU is a central facility to support the researches and teaching activities of University. This was introduced by late Dr. Shankar Dayal Sharma, on 21-11-1988 the vice president of India, and named after as late Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. The library was built in campus network only. Huge facilities were provided by the library are Internet Browsing Area, Online public access, Laptop zone with the Wi-Fi. The first automated university of library in the country is “Indira Gandhi Memorial library”.

The Study in India Program (SIP):

The SIP is mainly focuses for the foreign students and it is begun with the small experimental where as the students from ‘University of Pittsburgh’. The SIP took the 9 credits in the year of 1998. Since then the growth of SIP has been started. The SIP Program is selected for the “IIE Andrew Haskell Award”. HCU is the only university from the Asia to be recognized.

Virtual learning and The Center for Distance in HCU:

The Hyderabad Central University has started the offers of Post Graduate Diploma Degrees Since the 1994. The target groups are identified for the degrees are first one is “In service personnel for the students to improve their knowledge and skills” and the second one is that “the Fresh graduates to improve their chances of employment on the successful completion of the degrees”.
Academic Staff College in HCU:
This was established in the year of 198, it plays a major role in the augmenting of quality in the higher education. There are 66 academic Staff colleges in UGC and it is defined as the important academic wing of Hyderabad Central University.

The Placement Guidance and Advisory Bureau (PGAB):

This PGAB will provide the information about the opportunities in employment and also provides the information about the higher education in other countries and also in India. Every school has the student placement coordinators and the faculty placement coordinator that helps in process of placements, which are handled by this Bureau only.

Canteens, Hostels and Recreational Centers in HCU:

The total numbers of hostels in the university are 21, for the staying of students. In those hostels the 8 hostels for the Women’s and 13 hostels for men’s. There are 2 shopping complexes are there in those one is at North campus and another is at South campus. And there are four canteens in the University and four multipurpose auditoriums are there in the campus.

National Service Scheme Cell (NSS) in HCU:

On the vocation of the Gandhi Jayanti Week there will be a huge celebrations are there and there the NSS organizes the excellent programs like Peace March, Tree plantation and Orientation programs.

Student’s Union in HCU:

There are several student unions are there in the University, which are as follows.

Student activities in HCU:

Over the Academic year the Student’s union conducting some of the cultural events and Sports for students.
Nari’s Knight Cup:
This is the first cup of the Nari’s Cricket Knight Club. Initially, a few friends of the Mr. Narayan reddy started the five over a side match with the 9 players per side.
Senthil Balraj Cricket Night Cup: 
Another cup is named as senthil cricket cup and this was initiated in February in the year of 2011. This was conducted by the union in the memory of Senthil and Bal raj.
Football Night Cup:
The 3rd series in the night cups is the Football cup and which was conducted by the Student’s union. And this tournament is conducted in the month o February in every year.
Basketball and Volley ball Night cup:    
In the month of March the union will conduct the volleyball night cups and basketball night cups.
Cultural Festivals in HCU:
Sukoon: The meaning of this is “Peaceful”. This is the annual cultural festival of University and it was organized by the Students union and this was held in March month. This event includes all the cultural events like Anthakhari, Rangoli, singing, dancing and also various events are conducted. With the DJ night the festival will be concluded.

Entrepreneurship Development Cell (EDC) in HCU:

The EDC of a university is located in Management block of university and that has nurtured startups some are given below.
·       Launderette: A service of washing machine operated by the coin.
·       Inno garage: A consulting company that was founded by the Nikhil Kuruganti.

Campus nature:

The Hyderabad central University has large area under the forest, with the 2 perennial and with the 3 seasonal lakes. In this university there are 10 mammal, 734 plant, 15 reptile and species of birds are 159. The range of the University is over the 3 decades in the year of 1990 to 2010. The university has some planning’s to preserve area under the forest cover.
